As I made my way to the register at Whole Foods (with fresh watercress and raspberries in hand, yum!), I was tempted to take a quick glance at the beverage section. Beyond browsing the usual staples that quench my thirst, a tiny can caught my eye.
A sencha fanatic, I was thrilled to have come across the sencha shot from Ito En. This authentically brewed premium Japanese green tea "uses an advanced, deeper brewing method that yields both a high content of natural catechin tea antioxidants and a more full-bodied green tea taste."
This chilled, refreshing little pick-me-up was the perfect size for a quick walk down the street. My only complaint was the strength of the bitterness (a bit beyond the traditional grassy tang). Although for a canned tea on-the-go, it was pretty fabulous. While this won't replace my steep-at-home sencha experience, I'm glad to know that I can snag a shot of sencha when I'm on the run.
Have you tried the Oolong shot? Discovered these chilled teas at a local Whole Foods, too.

I have yet to try the Oolong shot, but can't wait to find it. I'm not sure if my Whole Foods stocks it. Thanks for the reminder!
