This week's sip & style takes a small departure from the land of fashion and teaware to celebrate the fabulous duo of home decor and tea. I often dream of the day that I will move into my very own home (even though I adore my cozy apartment), and can transform a sunny spot into a tea room.
Considering my love of beautiful blooms, I was thrilled to see that the fabulous Joy Cho (Oh Joy!) designed a lovely line of screen printed wallpaper for Hygge & West. My heart skipped a beat when my eyes met her white & blue Petal Pusher design. I can imagine covering the walls of my tiny tea room with this gorgeous paper (the perfect back drop for glass shelves covered in my collection of teacups).
The petal paper would pair perfectly (say that 5 times fast) with a Lu Mu Dan flower tea from Chicago Tea Garden (shown above). Otherwise known as Green Peony, Lu Mu Dan flowers "are made from spring-picked Huangshan Maofang that is hand-tied (see photos) into rosettes. Once the leaves are steeped the leaves plump up and become bright green."
On chilly fall nights when I'm longing for spring, I would find solace in my petal paper tea room as I steep the layers of Green Peony leaves. Welcome to my dream world of beautiful blooms.
I really enjoy reading your blog and seeing your "tea aesthetic." It made me imagine what my tea room would look like...and made me want this amazing wallpaper!
